A collection of the hit board games that so many enjoyed as kids.
I loved the board games as a kid and the DS made a great adaptation of these classics. Monopoly allows for you to pick the AI skill level so that you can have a challenge. You can also make it easier or customize rules. Boggle offers variations of the game via its word hunt and word count challenges. With Battleship you were able to change the theme to spaceships, pirates, submarines, classic, modern or Viking. Yahtzee also had multiple themes like: hamster, haunted, lava, lunar and classic.
This game is perfect for when you just need a break from your RPG's, Brain Games, and the usual action games. Just pop it in and pick between four classics, each with new themes. Play old school Battleship with a Pirate setting or Yahtzee on the moon! I had never played Boggle until I got this game and now I love it!
This game is perfect for when I'm at break during the long work day, and see if I can break a record. And if you want a longer game there is always Monopoly! You never have to find the box, read the instructions, set it up, count out money, pick up dice when they fall of the table, and no clean up just push the Power button!
The beauty of this game is you have all these games on ONE cartridge for ONE price.
Really a great game for any gamer and a must play for any board gamers.
Special functions for this game include:
Play four of your all-time favorites anytime, anywhere
Wireless multiplayer mode--challenge up to 4 friends
Touch-screen controls - play word games as fast as you can think!
"Hot seat" mode--share games with up to 4 people on a single DS

BioShock is Unlike Any Game Ever Released From a Major Publisher
Bioshock is that rare game where the plot, environment, and combat are all steps above the normal video game experience. Games at their very best, like this one, can create amazing alternative worlds for us to inhabit, doing those things we can't do in real life. BioShock was such a nice, melancholy and personal experience, seeing a movie of it just kinda seems a tad disconnected. There's no way a film can replicate the experience of playing through the game, the suspense, the little moments, the freedom. On the one hand I was delighted that 2K Games has brought the game, albeit a year late, to Sony's console.
It's a first person shooter, but it melds in elements of role playing and adventure games so well that people who don't care for those genres won't realize it. BioShock is all about placing yourself in a wonderful, heavily detailed environment filled with memorable characters, cool enemies, and creepy atmospheres. If you're looking for another run 'n gun game to play while you chug down a few Cokes, you'll probably be better off not picking BioShock up. BioShock 2 will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC at the end of 2009.
Bioshock is telling us that Randianism is easily perverted, not that Ryan began with perverted ideals. It describes a state, not a process, and to get to the objectivist ideal, Ryan felt pressured into forsaking his beliefs to save his city. BioShock has an disturbing story loosely based on Ayn Rand's Objectivism ideals, and takes place in an underwater city where morality has been cast aside, and evolution takes the limelight. In BioShock, you'll battle crazed genetic freaks, armor clad Big Daddies, and try to harvest the life giving serum inside Little Sister mutants.
Bioshock looks more on the suspenseful side and intense, yes more of the same look but switching the drill to hand gun and still have plasmids. Nice. I am curious though how they explain a Big Daddy having a plasmid ability? Bioshock is an FPS, but with many elements that make the gameplay more complex than just shooting your enemies while advancing in the game. In addition to the usual, and not so usual, fire and melee weapons, the main character can use "plasmids", genetic tools created in Rapture that can give superpowers, like telekinesis or fire throwing, to those who use them.

Battlefield 2142 Game Review
Battlefield 2142, created by Digital Illusions CE as the fourth in the Battlefield series of first-person shooter games, and set in the 22nd Century-- during which the European Union (EU) and Pan Asian Coalition (PAC); two military superpowers-battle for survival.
With the multiplayer game play design, the game gives 64 players on a server, or 16 playing single mode battling bots in the Conquest mode. Like Battlefield 2, the user's stats can be used in a ranking system, but unlike 2, it starts up new categories of weapons and vehicles. The game additionally gives an unlock feature that lets the player pick a new unlock each time they get a new rank instead of having to purchase the item. Additionally, EA Games provides Northern Strike, a new booster pack with new vehicles, maps, and unlocks.
Battlefield 2142 gives two modes of game play. One is Conquest, the other, Titan, which can be played online in multiplayer maps. Each mode supports up to 64 players in relation to which server a player uses to go online. Single player mode allows a up to 16, with 15 AI bots. There are 4 different player kits, each having separate weapons and equipment for that kit only, and each kit has a basic and secondary weapon, plus a knife unlike Battlefield 2's; the player's dog tags who is killer goes to that killer. By obtaining points in the game, each player can gain rank, options and equipment. Through customization, Battlefield 2142 becomes more effective by which players can gain more unlocks from the one kit. Within classes, each has two un-lockable weapons and a passive unlock that upgrades the soldier's helmet, with each helmet upgrade having different functions. One soldier's helmet upgrade will benefit by sharing with his/her squad mates.
Assault: Combined together, the Assault and Medic classes from Battlefield 2 become the Assault kit in Battlefield 2142. Assault rifles with un-lockable rocket or shotgun add-ons are the main weapons. Advanced first-aid kits (that can be used to restore health of those nearby), smoke grenades for screening, and a defibrillator for bringing back comrades who've fallen; are the other unlocks. The Assault kit's helmet upgrade lets soldiers find out what type of kit the enemy is using, and gives the proper icon above the marker "enemy spotted".
Recon: Battlefield 2 Special Forces and Sniper classes are combined to make up the Recon kit for Battlefield 2142. Sniper rifles are the main weapons, plus there's an un-lockable carbine for close-range battles.
Engineer: Again, combination of the Anti-Tank and Engineer classes from Battlefield 2 make up the Engineer kit in Battlefield 2142, and the maneuverable anti-vehicle rocket launcher is the default weapon. Support: The Support kit in Battlefield 2142 is basically the same from the Support class of Battlefield 2.
Maps: Battlefield 2142's ten maps include three new maps included in the Northern Strike booster pack.

Diablo 3 Game Review
Diablo III has a lot of the same style as its predecessor, Diablo II. It is a role-playing game full of action. It contains destructible environments with damage effects you can see and it incorporates havoc physics using the proprietary engine.
This game is currently still in development. It was veiled at the Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational on June 28, 2008.
The vision of this game set by developers is the ability to run a wide range of systems. DirectX10 will not be a requirement of this game. There will be a custom 3D game engine and uses an overhead view as seen in previous game series. The 3D environment will also be utilized by enemies where they are able crawl sides of wall from deeper regions of the combat area.
Development:
Diablo III was put into creation in 2005 during the time Blizzard North was still operating. It first had a different artistic design than what was later shown at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in 2008. It actually went through three different modifications before settling on the final one that was agreed on by the team which consists of fifty people. The game is mostly complete as far as mechanics and physics go. They are just working on minor revisions. Most of the focus will now turn to the game content.
Character Classes:
Want to go to school? Character can attend classes such as Barbarian, Witch Doctor and Wizard. Players can choose a gender for each class, unlike the earlier version. At this time Barbarian is the only class that will be brought back in the release, but other previous classes my come by in future expansions.
Art and Design:
On June 28, 2008, footage of the game was released which included Screenshots and game-play. This stirred up quite a ruckus and three days later many websites reported a petition concerning the art style which was used. Users wanted a "darker and more realistic" feel to the game. In the petition there were references to the similarities of Diablo III and World of Warcraft games. Including the alleged lack of "light radius" from former games, the "colorful cartoon-like" visuals and "out-of-proportion" character figures as well as armor.
Blizzard released a promotional video depicting what the game would look like with proposed changes on September 11, 2008.
Jay Wilson who is the lead designer later commented on fan altered screen shots that were used as examples. He stated in terms of texturing, where they grayed out everything and created a flat look, causing all monsters to take on a similar tone, which it does not play well. It would be boring to play more than just a couple times, which is not something that would work for them. He also stated in terms of a 3D engine, that it is almost impossible because you cannot get lighting that smart and able to run on reasonable systems. If possible they would do that with a few of the dungeons.

Assassins Creed - Directors Cut - Game Review
Created by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, comes Assassin's Creed. November 2007 marked the release of this game on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 game systems. A PC version was also released in North America on April 2, 2008.
Gameloft created Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles which is a prequel to this game. That was released for Nintendo DS on February 5, 2008.
Assassin's Creed created a lot of hype preceding it's release on Xbox 360 and PS3 last holiday season. Players are able to control a talented assassin named Altair who is part of a mystifying brotherhood. The brotherhood is assignment is to take out nine main targets located in Jerusalem, Damascus, and Acre. This plot has many more twists and turns and will prove to get much deeper and exciting throughout the game.
Players will first go through a long tutorial where Altair angers his brotherhood when he infringes on their guiding rules. Altair is ridded of his super-power abilities, his wealth, possessions and health pellets. He then has no choice but to execute the main story content and earn everything he lost back.
This games setting is from a third person perspective and players are able to explore and adventure around the city and environment collecting clues by conducting side missions moving an attack towards the primary targets of the brotherhood.
This game has many reviews and tons of information pertaining to the structure of this game and how to be successful. So what we will mention are a few issues we have come across during installation and play. The first being that when installation was first ran on Windows Vista 32-bit, the task failed.
The PC version had worked a bit better when compared to on the game consoles. This was mostly due to Altair's movement ability with the mouse and WASD keys and aiming capability. The mouse is able to control the camera behind Altair causing him to move any in which direction it is aimed. Of course this would make moving around much easier compared to the control of a thumb-stick.
Altair is also able to receive quick commands using the A or D or left or right keys such as change direction in a 45 degrees angle to either side. This comes in quite handy when alluding guards and executing your escape path.
You are also able to assign tasks to whichever keys you desire. But as a default, the WASD keys will move you forward, backward, left and right. Altair's head is controlled using the E key, which is also used to move to first person mode to execute necessary tasks. This includes things such as painting threats and to begin eavesdropping missions.
Altair's open hand is controlled using the left shift controls. This is useful to move aside pedestrians when walking through the city streets, to drop from ledges and mount horses. His legs are controlled with the space bar, and it also allows him jump behind crowds.
